 Tony Svehla (The Market)
Having played with Tony for several years now, I’ve always loved his ability to break new anthems at the perfect time of night or drop in an old classic that really gets the dance floor screaming. Currently the weekly resident at Market, he’s no new kid on the block either; such longevity on Commercial Road must mean something!
Age: Mid-40s, that’s all I’m saying!
Musical style: Very eclectic, a bit of this and a bit of that.
First gig? Far too long ago to remember but I’m sure it was camp!
Forthcoming gig or event? Every Friday and Saturday at The Market, and the yearly Tropical Fruits party.
Favourite venue in the world? Well, naturally that would be The Market.
Who or what pushes your buttons? Good Push: my partner Henry, who’s also a musical one. Bad Push: Being interviewed while trying to mix, and Mariah Carey!
