 It’s one of those places; you may not always pop in for a coffee or a meal but you know it’s always there. And you can always wander past the windows and see a familiar smile perving back at you as you scurry from Commercial Road through the backstreets to Coles. I’m talking about Ice Café Bar in Cato St of course.
Its owners, Geoff, Steve and Ben have decided it’s time to warm up winter with a facelift. So, from this weekend, don’t expect to see anyone in those windows looking back at you, except maybe some workmen in overalls. The venue will re-open 10 days later with the boys’ wallets a damn sight lighter as a consequence, but the transformation is set to be huge, with something to appeal to everyone. ICE CAFÉ BAR @ 30 Cato St, Prahran, Closing this Sunday July 13, re-opens July 24.
