It must be the season of Awards, the ARIAs have just passed, leaving many of us music industry types with hangovers lasting a week, the ALSO Awards are heading our way in just under a month to celebrate all things gay & lesbian and the annual Lotus Awards are about to get under way.

It’s a tradition from back in the days of The Star Hotel that pays tribute and respect to our Asian brothers and sisters. November 5 and 8 will see the heats for the Miss Lotus competition, followed by the Mr Lotus heats on November 12 and 15. Then on the 19th it’s the Mr Rice Queen award, which requires no hidden talent or drag ability, only the love of a Lotus flower!
