With everyone going Sex and the City mad lately, it’s not surprising that the Opium Den has chosen to serve up $5 Cosmopolitans every Thursday night - a very sexy way to start the weekend early! ‘Therapy Thursdays’ features Dr Chan and free entry all night. They also tell me the bar staff have all the latest north side gossip to spill too, so catch up on what’s what with a few drinks and a lot of whispering! Then you can swing from sexy to freaky with the Friday Freak Show, hosted by Anita Beer with two shows from 11:30pm. Saturday night sees the Queer, Lez-B-In, Trans and Freaks lovers hit the dance floor for their weekly ‘All Sorts’ party til late. Then round off the weekend with a musical theatre Open Mic night (no, that’s a different Mike), with Happy Hour from 5-8pm, food, free entry and a selection of fine entertainment from the audience!
