MCV to donate profits to fire victims
Written by Peter Hackney

MCV will donate all profits made by the next issue of the magazine to the Victorian bushfire victims, it has been decided by the magazine’s publishers, Evolution Publishing.

The decision means that all profits made through advertising sales in MCV # 424, published on Thursday, February 19, will go directly to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

MCV Editor Andrew Shaw said the decision was made to donate profits to the bushfire appeal as the fires had affected all Victorians, urban or rural, straight or gay.

“The bushfires have impacted on every Victorian’s life, whether they live in the city or in the areas ravaged by the fires,” he said.

“Most of us know someone who has suffered loss and there are many GLBTIQ people out there either fighting the fires directly or contributing their skills to help relieve suffering.

MCV prides itself on being a paper for all of the Victorian GLBTIQ community, not just those of us living in the inner city of Melbourne.

“We’d like to thank those businesses advertising with us in the knowledge that they will be contributing to that donation,” Shaw said.

To book an advertisement for the bushfire appeal issue of MCV, call (03) 9602 2333 or email sales account managers Nick Gordon ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )
or Alex Schoeffel ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ).

Donations can also be made directly to the appeal at the Red Cross Australia website
