The cream of the gay community gathered in the Melbourne CBD last night to get a sneak preview of Joy 94.9’s new home.

Representatives from community organisations mingled with sponsors at the radio station's new digs, eight floors above one of the city’s prime locations at 225 Bourke Street.

Enjoying roof-top city views to die for, guests drank champagne and hoved into canapés before enjoying a tour of the new studio and work spaces.

Australia's only GLBTI radio station, Joy is currently test broadcasting from its new location.

Popular 'Campervan' presenter Bridget demonstrated her on-air skills as visitors filed in quietly (and not so quietly) to watch.

Station manager Stephen Hahn told onlookers Joy would permanently move into its new home in three weeks “even if it means we’re sitting on crates”.

Joining Joy in the building will be the Gay and Lesbian Switchboard, ALSO Foundation, Melbourne Queer Film Festival, Melbourne Fringe Festival, Melbourne International Arts Festival and others.
