London is enjoying amazingly great weather – no day since I have been here has been under the 25 degree mark. This is of course also perfect weather for Pride London this coming Saturday.
As part of the festivities the National Portrait Gallery launched their new exhibition, Gay Icons, and I was privileged to be invited. Not exactly what you would think, the exhibition is a series of photographs of people chosen by an invited panel as their gay icons. Australia even gets a look in, with Ian Roberts being included as one of the icons.
The evening was very glitzy, with a who's who of gay London invited. While everyone enjoyed the rosé and canapés the London Gay Men's Chorus opened and closed the official proceedings. The exhibition is on at the National Portrait Gallery in St Martin's Place until October 18.
Now I'm off to enjoy the sunshine as London gets into gear for Pride London this coming Saturday. I’ve been invited to march with the lead group of dignitaries – I am so excited!
