Victorian Health Minister Daniel Andrews
(pictured) spoke at the Positive Living Centre in Prahran on Tuesday about the
$16.6 million in last month’s State Budget allocated towards reducing HIV and
other sexually transmissible infections.
“We were happy that the Minister took time
to expand on what was in the budget,” Executive Director for the Victorian AIDS
Council, Mike Kennedy told MCV.
“We knew about the money but not how it
will be distributed.”
Health promotions, research, and clinical
work will all benefit from the funding.
“There will be a multiple point of view
response to HIV prevention,” Kennedy concluded.
