Cliff reveals companion

cliff-250.jpgFormer English pop singer Sir Cliff Richard has revealed details of his previously off-limits private life in a new autobiography, My Life, My Way.

In the book, Richard, 67, discusses his living arrangements with his “companion” John McElynn, a former priest; and also speaks out in support of same-sex marriage.

“John and I have over time struck up a close friendship,” Richard wrote in an excerpt of his autobiography published in UK newspaper the Daily Express.

“He has also become a companion, which is great because I don't like living alone, even now.”

Richard also claims same-sex marriages are an example of how the world has moved on.

“I think the church must come round and see people as they are now,” he says. “Gone are the days when we assumed loving relationships would be solely between men and women.”

Could I just ask what you mean by "former" pop singer? As far as I know Cliff has not retired and we in the UK are eagerly awaiting his tour in November.

I know he is also still popular in Oz and has over the years had many sell out tours in the Antipodes.

G'day to you all from Bonnie Scotland
