MADONNA [WARNER]

So far only available in Japan as a promo single, ‘Miles Away’ is the third single to be released from Hard Candy.

After the busy-busy-busyness of the tick tock song and ‘Give It 2 Me’, ‘Miles Away’ is a return to ballad guitar pop, a sound that Madonna cultivated so well earlier in her career. He voice sounds normal, not overly tweaked and squeaky as it has of late, and the lyrics attempt a heartfelt sincerity (co-writers include Madonna, Tim Mosely, Justin Timberlake and Nate Hills).

But as we all own the album anyway, it’s the remix schedule I know you’re itching for. Thankfully none of the leak jobs are too overcooked, mostly just adding some meat to Madge’s scrawny bones. The Ornique remix is pretty and shows due respect, while Dubtronic simply tickle the existing beat. Unofficial or not, these cuts bring life to this new single.
