VANESSA HUDGENS [HOLLYWOOD RECORDS]

Part Britney (but with her hymen intact), part Cher (vocoder voices are so passé) and part Christina (but still too Mickey Mouse), this High School Musical star has branched out into the scary world of popular music with this new album of contemporary US sounds. Word on the street reckons that sugarcoated Vanessa is quietly repositioning herself for an adult audience now that she has too much hair in all the wrong places to be a Disney star.

Accordingly, the big guns have been placed in charge of production, including Kelly and Katy’s Dr Luke, and Rihanna and Sean Kingston’s JR Rotem. But this girly girl struggles to pull off a convincing diva act and lacks the lust factor needed to luck in.
