Although the word ‘pop’ on the sleeve could be off-putting for some underground tastes, it’s the adjective ‘future’ that gives this double compilation its audio edge. Sure there’s a heap of fun dance choons included that you will already know and love (Hot Chip, Muscles, Robyn, Faker, Gossip and The Killers with the Pet Shop Boys), but there’s also a mean selection of dirty electro pop that will nudge its way into your heart and minds.

Check out the punk dance thrash of Bonde de Role, Rex the Dog’s remixes of The Sounds and The Knife, the Swedish loon Jenny Wilson, the sexy Ladytron, and my favourite keyboard funksters, Chromeo. Then there’s Fisherspooner and The Presets. And Freeform Five...and the LCD Soundsystem. Need I go on?
