Eon

musiceon-250.jpgEON—GRAFTON PRIMARY [MGM]

Now that The Presets have gone mainstream (only joking!), it’s time for the next, next big thing, and Sydney’s Grafton Primary, the nu-breed of crazy electro hipsters, are it. Eon is a master stoke of future-thinking Aussie dance. Pumping with a sound not unlike Human League in their heyday, though with the fiercer electronic sounds of today, this album is a tour de force with down under chic.

Borrowing from the 80s is one thing, but making the sound relevant for a choosy young audience is the key. Eon remembers bands like Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk and Tubeway Army, and adds a dynamite raw edge that is musically intoxicating and lyrically stimulating. A great way to get the weekend started with a bang.
