Chasing Lights

musicsaturdays-250.jpgCHASING LIGHTS—THE SATURDAYS [FASCINATION]

The Saturdays are a new, glam-fabulous Irish girl group currently stealing the UK limelight since dropping their debut single. And now with Chasing lights, they’ve officially put Girls Aloud on notice.

Although there’s an enthusiastic mix of contemporary dance pop and starry-eyed ballads, the wee lassies spangle brightest when the energy is erupting and their quaffed heads are high in the disco stratosphere. Thanks to producers Quiz & Larossi (Shayne Ward, Rihanna), and Jewels & Stone (Dannii Minogue, Sophie Ellis-Bextor), ‘Set me off’ has each chicklette taking turns on the mic, ‘Keep her’ is full of sexy synth squelch, ‘Work’ is a mid-tempo RnB infused stomper, and first single ‘If this is love’ is post-Yazoo brilliant.
