But how great would it be if we brought ‘camp’ back into style? Both gay men and lesbians called themselves ‘camp’ back then, so it incorporates the two, which is a definite plus. I also think it embodies a sense of fun as ‘gay’ does, but also a sense of difference, like ‘queer’.

I think if we’re reclaiming labels, let’s go with ‘camp’. I am and can now officially call myself a camp woman!
