VicBears and their supporters should be publically commended for all the hard work behind this year’s Southern HiBearnation, and for their incredible generosity of spirit.

As a result, on Saturday July 26, they presented a donation of $6,000 to the Country Awareness Network Victoria (CAN – formerly known as Country AIDS Network) at their monthly Den Night at the Laird.

Being a community-based organisation, driven largely by volunteers, the willingness of other community minded people to support us in our work around HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, STIs and general sexual health is greatly appreciated. It’s refreshing to have a Melbourne-based group recognising the needs of Victoria’s rural/regional communities, and it is encouraging to know that the spirit of community does still exist with many in our diverse population.

We would like to take this opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to VicBears and to all who so generously donated. The funds raised will go a long way towards supporting the communities we serve.
