Can't get her out of my head PDF Print E-mail

Fasten your seatbelts, boys and girls: the diva is back and she’s taking no prisoners.

I must admit that I thought it would be hard for Kylie Minogue to top her extremely emotional Homecoming tour of last year. However, any fears I had soon vanished in the wake of the edgy fabulousness that was the debut of Kylie’s X tour in Paris last week.

Arriving to a sea of homosexuals at the Palais Omnisports at Bercy, I knew that the night was off to a good start; and after buying the obligatory t-shirt, red with a black print of Kylie in dominatrix gear, I settled in for an evening of camp, sexy fun.

The stage spectacular proves that Kylie is not afraid to showcase new material with the inclusion of the bouncy ‘Ruffle My Feathers’, complete with sword fighting; and the slower ‘Sometime Samurai’. The petite princess kept the crowd entertained with her current crop of hits and reworkings of a few old favourites, all the while switching personas and costumes at a rapid pace - Cheerleader, Geisha and Rock Chic to name a few.

Enhancing the whole experience were the outstanding graphics and LED stage lights that seamlessly transported you from Viennese Ballroom to football game, and even to the Copacabana at one point.

As always there was an abundance of eye candy for the fans, with an entourage of dancers and ‘acrobuffs’ – the wonderfully agile and versatile boys that she seems to favour of late.

The packed venue lapped up every delicious second, especially when Kylie addressed us in French. The highlight of the evening, for me at least, saw Kylie gliding on stage draped over a gleaming metal skull for ‘Like a Drug’.

I‘m man enough to admit that I did manage to tear up on more than one occasion: how could you not?  Don’t hesitate to buy, steal or beg for tickets when X makes it down to Aus.
