  • Exhibition by rural and regional artists displaying works that incorporate a red ribbon: BRIT’s Gallery B, Chapel Street, Bendigo.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 27
  • Launch of the Victorian AIDS Council’s Protection Calendar. Hosted by Adam Richard, features appearances by US porn stars Steve Cruz and Bruno Bond. The fun continues at Club 80 with a screening of the two stars’ films accompanied by live commentary! Not to be missed (men only).   • AIDS Awareness Week Walk/BBQ in Shepparton. Join the crew from Goulburn Valley Pride at 5.30pm sharp (near the river bridge at Aquamoves) then take a short walk along the forest path to SPC Ardmona KidsTown for this family-friendly event. Connected sessions include topics such as HIV transmission, anti-retroviral medication, disclosure, stigma and support services.   • Red Aware Reception, Government House, Melbourne. On the Eve of World AIDS Day Hosted by The Governor of Victoria and Mrs Jan de Kretser. Celebrating YEAH - (Youth Empowerment Against HIV/AIDS). The event is themed ‘Red Aware’ to highlight the international symbol of AIDS Awareness, the Red Ribbon, and aims to celebrate the passion and commitment of many young Australians who have joined YEAH to build and deliver innovative HIV/AIDS and sexual health peer programs. TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1 – World AIDS Day
  • Victorian AIDS Council is holding a memorial ceremony at the Positive Living Centre. The ceremony includes a display of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, Painting with Passion exhibition and guest speakers the Hon Michael Kirby and comedian Rachel Berger. The Melbourne G&L Chorus will also perform. Positive Living Centre, 51 Commercial Rd, Prahran. Doors open 5pm.

  • World AIDS Day Fundraising Dinner, a two-course meal and entertainment, including local singers Andy Horton and Bridie Sanderson, Congolese community members singing traditional songs, short films, guest speakers, DJ Rick Connors, and your hosts Damien Stevens & Kris Del Vayze. $40 per person (drinks at bar prices), 6pm-9pm, Goulburn Valley Hotel, 223 High St, Shepparton.
