Hungry for theatre

p14_arts_agenda_391_image3-250.jpgEnough is the latest production from Melbourne’s youth theatre company, Platform. A new musical written by composer Wally Gunn and cabaret performer Wes Snelling (both of whom are openly gay), it’s the first in a series of new works by Platform exploring the story of the first of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: Famine.

A city where food costs the earth, and is near impossible to get. A city without fuel, without transport, where homes are no longer sacred, where safety is never guaranteed. A city where people line up for rations at a football stadium. A city where religion falters and faith is in question.

The city is Melbourne. This is how it begins. Do you want to know how it ends?

ENOUGH @ fortyfivedownstairs, 45 Flinders Lane, Melbourne, July 10 - 19. Bookings: 9662 9966 or www.fortyfivedownstairs.com
