p14_arts_image3-250.jpgOutland tells the story of Max, a man who tries to keep his geekiness hidden, but there are daleks lurking in his closet… can he keep his true self a secret from his über-cool date, Dylan?

In 2006, comedian Adam Richard and director John Richards decided to make a short film about a gay science fiction fanclub. Shot on a microbudget, and filmed in John’s loungeroom, Outland went on to rave reviews in festivals around the world. and is now in development as a television series for the ABC, as a Princess Pictures production (We Can Be Heroes, Summer Heights High). Now you have another chance to see it! Or at least the first third, as the Melbourne International Comedy Festival will be screening eight minutes and 15 seconds of Outland as part of The Quick And Dirty Film Festival…

OUTLAND @ Federation Square
Friday April 11, Federation Square, from 8pm
