Fellas who fancy the hide should start polishing forthwith. Sharper than a whip crack on the rump, A Week of Leather (AWOL) kicks off at The Laird on July 11 and is aimed squarely at Leather Men and those interested in the leather lifestyle.

This manly affair offers two parties, a private bondage lesson, a Sunday meet ‘n’ greet and the infamous Laird Spit ‘n’ Polish. There's also the opportunity to take out the coveted Laird Leather Man for 2009, held at the Laird Hotel July 17. Last year's winner, Malcolm Guest, was runner up at Mr Leather Australia New Zealand and competed against the top 53 leather men in the world in Chicago.
